The inspiration behind Ruby

Ruby was born at a kitchen‑table conversation with my mother, out of a shared sense that marketing still had more fire, imagination, and integrity left in it than what we were seeing. She inspired the idea to evolve my former agency, 3am Strategies, and rename it after my great aunt Ruby—a rare, radiant woman whose warmth, style, and clear, honest storytelling lit up every room. That family lineage is the story behind the story: Ruby is built in the image of someone who was both jewel‑like and deeply human, and we aim to bring that same clarity, heart, and precision to every brand we touch.

Angela Sikes, Founder & Principal, is a global brand marketing leader with 20+ years of experience cutting and polishing brands across top‑tier agencies and a global sports apparel and footwear company, where she architected a 1.3‑billion‑dollar sportswear strategy and led sell‑out launches across the Americas, Europe and Asia.

Her canvas spans fashion, retail, lifestyle, and sports, as well as tourism and hospitality, gaming and entertainment, healthcare and pharmaceutical, financial services and CPG, food and beverage and quick‑serve restaurants, logistics and transportation, utilities, energy, and education. Across these categories, Angela treats each brand like a high‑value stone—clarifying its true color, cutting a narrative that feels both premium and deeply human, and setting it in campaigns, content, and partnerships that elevate equity, increase visibility, expand digital footprints, and ignite engagement at scale.

She invests in the next generation of marketers: Angela teaches graduate‑level Consumer Research & Insights, a foundational course in Georgetown University’s Integrated Marketing Communications master’s program, and guest lectures at other leading universities, bringing a builder’s, operator’s, and educator’s eye to every engagement.
